Performs community outreach including special events. The Surprise Academy offers non-credit education about city government and operations, as well as training to become effective community servants and leaders. Provides housing assistance for income-qualified residents including funding to assist with the purchase of paint and paint supplies; homebuyer assistance; and emergency and major housing rehabilitation and modifications including plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling and accessibility items.
