Conventional Housing Program provides housing in county-owned housing units for families, older adults, and people with disabilities on low income. Includes family units and efficiency apartments located in San Luis, Somerton, and Yuma. Section 8 Housing Program provides rent subsidies for private houses, apartments, and mobile homes to families, older adults, and people with disabilities on low income. Housing assistance payments are made to owners of privately-owned housing on behalf of the tenant. Rent subsidy payments cover the difference between the contract rent and the amount that families contribute.
