Responds to health questions. Administers public health nursing offices throughout the County. Coordinates the Maternal Child Health Advisory Council, helping to integrate and coordinate health services throughout the County.

Provides support for existing child care services and the expansion of family childcare in the region. Works to develop, support, and improve early childhood care and educational resources through education, advocacy, and networking.

Contracts with SEAGO (see separate listing) to provide case management for seniors and adults with disabilities.

Provides public health emergency preparedness information.

Coordinates a collaborative process that reduces the number of homeless locally and regionally. Designs and implements programs for the homeless including access to housing, health, and social services necessary to meet basic human needs.

Provides regional planning for local governments in Maricopa County and the contiguous urbanized areas in Pinal County in the areas of transportation, human services, public works, building codes, water quality, air quality, urban growth and solid waste. Conduct special studies and surveys. Develops population projections and socioeconomic data for planning purposes. Provides database of information, maps and publications including geographical boundaries, street centerline file, special census, land use, general plan use, socioeconomic projections, residential completions, employment locations, development areas.

Represents the interests and needs of people with developmental disabilities, especially those who are unserved or underserved.

Advises officials and the public on transportation plans and unmet needs throughout Maricopa County. Assists in developing and maintaining public understanding and support of MCDOT programs through active communication including community meetings.

Guides the government-to-government relationship between the State of Arizona, tribal nations, and communities located in Arizona; ensures consultations with tribal leaders to facilitate decision making and intergovernmental cooperation; and encourages cooperation and collaboration among state agency tribal liaisons to ensure that state services and resources are available to all citizens in Arizona tribal communities.

Coalition of member community groups that work to meet the needs of people who are homeless throughout Pima County. Hosts training events for providers of homeless services. Produces the Pima County Need Help Guide; Heat Relief Guide; COVID-19 Unsheltered Resource Guide; and Guidelines on Getting Out booklet for ex-offenders. These can be downloaded from the website. Website also provides a link to the database which shows bed availability in local shelters and access points for people seeking housing assistance. Does not provide any direct assistance to individuals.

Provides a crisis hotline for members of Health Choice Arizona. Also serves as the Regional Behavioral Health Authority for central and northern Arizona.

Advocates to protect the rights of inmates to obtain medical care, protective custody, correct time computations, and timely releases. Responds to email and snail mail inquiries on a variety of prison policy and procedure issues. Offers information and expertise to public officials, prisoners' families, and government agencies on corrections and criminal justice issues. Serves as expert witness on prisoner/family issues, capital punishment cases, time computation errors, gang violence, sexual assault/harassment, prison policy and procedure, and development of mitigation issues. Provides clemency board hearing preparation, mitigation and expert witness services, time computations, interstate compact transfer assistance, release eligibility analysis, assistance on death penalty issues, analysis of applicability of new laws to currently sentenced offenders. Sponsors litigation and/or legislation to protect or define constitutional, civil, and administrative rights and responsibilities of incarcerated people and their supporters. Researches criminal justice issues for political candidates, attorneys, agencies, and other interested groups. Serves as a watchdog agency over state prisons and county jails.

Reaches out to homeless individuals and families and works to engage them into services including case management and transportation.

Campaigns for identified programs delivered by health and human service agencies in the areas of education, income, and health. Acts as a networking partner for organizations throughout Yavapai County. Provides community development and planning services. Places volunteers in the community for long and short term opportunities based on interest and skill set.
